Part 3: Punctuation mark + designs examples

These designs are understanding and imaginative because apart of the design using punctuation mark it also gives the meaning and the language how you will express to somebody.

I like the idea on the third and the forth image about the question mark including the explanation mark and the  “THANKS !” with double explanation mark giving an extra one as a “shock or shout”.

Typography

It’s my first time of doing my own typography and punctuation by hand writing and I think it’s going to be tuff but I will try all my best to manage and learn from this example that shows below.

What is typography?

Key to image: 1. Bowl; 2. Stem; 3. Counter; 4. Arm; 5. Ligature; 6. Terminal; 7. Spine; 8. Ascender; 9. Apex; 10. Serif; 11. Ear; 12. Descender; 13. Crossbar; 14. Finial; 15. Ascender height; 16. Cap height; 17. X-height; 18. Baseline; 19. Descender line

Part 2: Postcards examples (love postcard) Research

Typography it’s an art and a technique of making our own typeface, so I decided of doing a love quote postcard.

I will  be working on the typeface and make it work with the layout, colour scheme, design theme and will make the difference between a good, bad and great design.

Here are some examples of typography postcards:

This postcards are made by Rachel Greig she has done simple and meaning postcards using four colours to show “love colour”.

I can also see that there is a hand written typography and the bottom postcard with a illustrated typography made as lollipop which I think it’s creative and continues with writing.

Love Post Cards

Here it’s only typography and colour background demonstrating only the typeface and simple.

I know this is a different typography but with such a good talent (I wish I could draw something like that) but it really inspired  me it’s kinda of  love as the handwriting it looks sweet and cute.

LIVE LAUGH LOVE POST CARD

I like the way it’s used giving a significant meaning with the letter “L” forming 3 words at the same time which allows audience to understand clearly.

1This it’s designed with in a full card with a bright colour and only typography without graphics or illustration in it.

postcard4I saw this postcard and I find it boring because it does the same design on the reverse with a single (handwrite) as it seems.

Typography examples

I like the way how its designed giving the meaning of the word which you can also see a various of typefaces as bold, thin, large, small etc which it indicates a form of the main word.

I have seen a lot of interested and creative typography as the one below using only one word to describe the whole word.

For part 2 – Use typography in postcard

I will research about typography as it’s the significant part to demonstrate the understanding and design process.

For that I need to get samples and several ideas to produce for my final outcome.

Here are some of the key points that I will be doing as regarding typography and researching in different process such as logo, poster, layout etc.

For part 3 – Punctuation mark

To research love or quotes postcards to see how typography can be located in each section.

To look at typography which could be suit to the postcard (depending what Il be doing).

Get the right size for the postcard.
