Evaluation and reflection – Part 3 – Punctuation mark

Evaluation and Reflection:

1) Visual Communication:

In what ways does the visual communication/message of the piece meet the needs of the brief?

By adding the question mark (?) and the exclamation mark (!) I have Demonstrate both design punctuation mark at the same time to show an expression with the phrase “are you crazy?!”

I think I have give a straight communication message.

In what ways could the piece be mis-read or mis-understood by the audience?

Depending what phrase I used maybe could of been mis understood but I think I did pretty good.

2) Reflection of own working practices:

How was my time keeping?

My time was a bit struggle because it was a short time period for this project but I tried my best to have everything done.

How was my analysis of the brief?

I did some key points on the brief and to analyse on my research.

How was my research?

I did some research and I got to know the definition of each punctuation mark which was really interested.

How did I use research to generate and develop ideas?

By sketching new designs and drawing my own hand writing with pen then move it to illustrator.

In what ways did I show that I had achieved the Learning Outcomes? How can I improve this next time?

I think I have show some of the learning outcomes and I think I could improve on the typography hand writing which was really tuff for me to do it because it was my first time of drawing my own typography.

I don’t complain on the punctuation mark but it was a bit difficult for me.

What parts of the project did I enjoy most? Why was this the case?

I enjoy the hand writing but I did  not like the outcome on illustrator because I was expecting clearer but I did try my best and hope for the next time I will have to practice more.

My final – Part 3 Punctuation mark poster

Printpunctuation

From my research I wanted to experiment a different way of adding the (?) question mark and the (!) explanation mark together like for example “if somebody is asking a question sometimes people react with the explanation mar as a shock question” so I though myself of adding the word “Are you crazy?!” but adding both punctuation mark a the same time with the design above.

Since this is my final I think it’s not bad as I though but I was expecting really sharp I guess but I did try all my best of doing it perfectly but I like the idea of making both punctuation mark.

Part 3: Development poster

Part 3 – Quick sketches with punctuation mark

Here are some of my handwritten design typography including punctuation mark as you can see I add them together to make a (?) Question mark: A replacement for a full stop when the sentence is a question and also (!) Exclamation mark: A replacement for a full stop to suggest surprise or shock.

Evaluation and reflection – Part 2 – Postcard typography (love)

Evaluation and Reflection:

1) Visual Communication:

In what ways does the visual communication/message of the piece meet the needs of the brief?

In what ways could the piece be mis-read or mis-understood by the audience?

I think it gives a bright colour postcard expressing the right typography used by (Capitals) font.

I manage to show an accurate visual message with the illustration and the typography.

2) Reflection of own working practices:

How was my time keeping?

Was a short time but I did manage to handle everything and I think I did pretty good.

How was my analysis of the brief?

I figure it out how to come out with the idea of choosing the right typeface and more research inspirations.

How was my research?

Was good and have come up with lots of ideas but trying not to struggle at the same time.

How did I use research to generate and develop ideas?

Going through the key points I mention from the start and be able to draw some quick sketches to get an idea for the final piece.

In what ways did I show that I had achieved the Learning Outcomes? How can I improve this next time?

I did manage to give detail on every step I was doing but I think I might improve more into typography section.

What parts of the project did I enjoy most? Why was this the case?

I enjoy the research because I notice a several ideas and the final development.

What parts of the project did I enjoy least? Why was this the case?

Concentration at the typography because it was a bit of thinking if I did it well or not? but I see I did not do bad at all.

Part 2: My final postcard (love)

From my research I have analyse a few examples and I have come with this final idea of making a design including typography because I though myself of making it extra and more visual for the audience.

From my research I came with ideas and to make my own creative of using a heart instead of writing “love” or “heart” so for then I only draw the heart to combine with the typography with bold and large font to represent a “love quote” saying “YOU ARE MY (red illustration heart) LOVE”.

I think the colours goes well as I did play around in using other colours but for me I liked this final outcome.

For the back poster I did use the same colours as the front postcard to match and just adding a small typography on the left side saying “LOVE” using 2 words at the  time.

Part 2: Development postcard (love)

Here are some procedures how I manage to use the typography on vertical and horizontal using the (Capitals) font and scaling, rotating the word “YOUR ARE MY” and also like I rapidly design with the pen tool a curve to make a heart for “LOVE”.

I have add a background to continually play with the heart giving a full colour and add the typography, background and background for the final outcome which says “YOU ARE MY (red heart) LOVE”.

I have also done the back of the postcard showing a quick view of how I add a small heart with a opacity of 60% adding also the same font as I used at the front of the postcard but here only adding “LOVE” in twos.

Part 2: Postcard sketches
