Evaluation and Reflection

Evaluation and Reflection:

1) Visual Communication:

In what ways does the visual communication/message of the piece meet the needs of the brief?

I think by giving the illustration and background gives the attention of what the message is saying including advertising Hotel Marriots.

What are the strengths of the visual communication? Why?

Easy to read and for the message to stand out sending to the audience because it is important to have that catch eye and it’s easy to understand.

What are the weaknesses of the visual communication? Why?

Not able to show illustration so you can visualise what the message is saying as the typography can be written wrong and hard to read if it’s not clear enough.

In what ways could the piece be mis-read or mis-understood by the audience? Be specific about who the audience is.

In what practical ways could the piece be developed or improved?

Maybe if I had photography? but as I said I wanted to come up with the idea of the 90’s as you seen on my research so wanted to combine some of them.

2) Reflection of own working practices:

Be very honest with yourself in this section. Please feel free to approach a member of staff for help finding ways to develop skills.

How was my time keeping?

My time keeping was ok but at the same time frustrated because I could not get what I wanted to do my “moto gp” poster because I was trying to come up with another technique using sparkly sand but at the end of the day i did some drawing.

How was my analysis of the brief?

It was pretty confusing at the beginning because it was my first time having this kind of brief but at the end of the day I did understood and tried my best to do it right.

How was my research?

I went through couple of illustration referring to my posters and I have analyse them to come up with my own ideas so I think it was not bad but maybe if I did some research on magazines to would of been better I guess.’

How did I use research to generate and develop ideas?

I have done some initial ideas and brainstorm including drawings as Carlos gave us some new techniques to come with ideas.

How did I use experimentation during the project? How can I make this more effective?

Using my own drawings to come up with ideas even though I tried to use glitter to add as a background on the tennis poster.

In what ways did I show that I had achieved the Learning Outcomes? How can I improve this next time?

Maybe If i should of done a website layout where I have post a “Hotel Marriott” example.

What parts of the project did I enjoy most? Why was this the case?

Like I always enjoy doing the development work and designing posters.

What parts of the project did I enjoy least? Why was this the case?.

I think in the analyzing area of the brief was a bit confusing but at the end of the day I have understood.

Maslow’s self-esteem level – YNC ONLINE

450px-Maslow's_Hierarchy_of_Needs.svg

Here are some examples of how can advertise can be expressed by self-esteem,

Means that gives the communication to the audience by interacting with the image expression.

Physiological NeedsThese are biological needs. They consist of needs for oxygen, food, water, and a relatively constant body temperature. They are the strongest needs because if a person were deprived of all needs, the physiological ones would come first in the person’s search for satisfaction.

Safety NeedsWhen all physiological needs are satisfied and are no longer controlling thoughts and behaviors, the needs for security can become active. Adults have little awareness of their security needs except in times of emergency or periods of disorganization in the social structure (such as widespread rioting). Children often display the signs of insecurity and the need to be safe.

Needs of Love, Affection and BelongingnessWhen the needs for safety and for physiological well-being are satisfied, the next class of needs for love, affection and belongingness can emerge. Maslow states that people seek to overcome feelings of loneliness and alienation. This involves both giving and receiving love, affection and the sense of belonging.

Needs for EsteemWhen the first three classes of needs are satisfied, the needs for esteem can become dominant. These involve needs for both self-esteem and for the esteem a person gets from others. Humans have a need for a stable, firmly based, high level of self-respect, and respect from others. When these needs are satisfied, the person feels self-confident and valuable as a person in the world. When these needs are frustrated, the person feels inferior, weak, helpless and worthless.

Needs for Self-ActualizationWhen all of the foregoing needs are satisfied, then and only then are the needs for self-actualization activated. Maslow describes self-actualization as a person’s need to be and do that which the person was “born to do.” “A musician must make music, an artist must paint, and a poet must write.” These needs make themselves felt in signs of restlessness. The person feels on edge, tense, lacking something, in short, restless. If a person is hungry, unsafe, not loved or accepted, or lacking self-esteem, it is very easy to know what the person is restless about. It is not always clear what a person wants when there is a need for self-actualization.

FINAL 3 EVENTS CAMPAING

To come up with this idea of creating as a three bright colours and behind drawing  is because on each poster represents each live event in Europe.

I came up with the idea of doing kind of illustration since I draw it by hand and scanned to photoshop and then transferred to illustrator to give the detail on the poster.

For example one the first poster I have showed a bold font in the middle along the Marriott Hotel logo to show what is about and  the image of event “Tennis”.

I choose black and green colour because it combines with the grass and black to give a professional detail.

On the second image I really liked the outcome because it’s bright as the motorcycles and it shows a bit of  typography along the image giving a equal size and right colours matching with the logo sign.

So for my last poster I gave a mixture of typography as black and white because it comes out of crazy “music” and adding some signs of music to it.

Development for the three events

This our my final development

Marriot Hotel events EXAMPLE

I saw this which is kinda similar what I am doing but I found on this website where he did a website, poster, layout, phone application and magazine which gave a lot of ideas exploring in one live event and he combine them all together.

He also gave similar colour to the logo which I did like how he add blue, green and yellow colour.

Events in Europe

Here are some of my research for my Live events in Europe one in London, Italy and Spain.

Having the information from there to be able to analyse the colours, typography, images and specific direction to be included on my final posters.
